China Glaze "Ugly Sweater Party" Swatch & Review

It's Hump day! Can you believe New Year's Eve is tomorrow?! It's crazy how fast this year flew by! While there were many things I enjoyed about 2015, I'm excited to start to the new year as well. A fresh start is always good, right?

I have a small post today from the China Glaze Cheers! holiday collection for this year. Out of all the polishes, I only picked up one: Ugly Sweater Party. Normally I like to pick up a couple from the collection that I find unique or a shade I don't already own but not this time haha. I wish I could provide the full collection to review, but unfortunately I am only one woman in college...so maybe another time!

Ugly Sweater Party is a pink glitter bomb within a pink base. There's larger blue glitter, pink glitter, silver glitter, holo glitter, and more! This is like a disco ball on my fingers, it's so sparkly and pretty...but the formula is not so good. The glitter likes to clump together and it tends to be quite base heavy despite the base being thin...make sense haha? So if you're not careful it can get thick on your nails really quick. I recommend doing one coat, letting it dry down then go back for the second coat.  However it did only took 2 coats to get fully opaque so this is 2 coats plus topcoat (I also recommend using a thicker topcoat because this sucks up topcoat like crazy).

Overall, I like this because it's super sparkly and such but the formula is a kind of a pain. My recommendation for applying this is either: sponge on or apply like normal then go back and dip 'n' dab for full coverage. So if you love the color and don't mind the formula then go for it but if you're looking for an easy to use glitter than I would skip this.

Formula X Revved Up Swatch & Review

It's Monday! How was your holiday guys? Mine was good, I had Christmas at my house then went over to my grandma's house for dinner and such. What did you guys do?

Today I have a small post from the Formula X line at Sephora. I got this in my ipsy bag this month, so of course I had to share it!

If you guys want to see my ipsy bags each month, let me know!

Revved Up is an ultra metallic, rose gold foil. When I first saw it, I was "ehh" about it, but once I put it on my nails I completely changed my mind! It is so pretty, not brush strokey, and the best part is the formula. The formula is almost a one coater! If you have shorter nails than mine than you could probably get away with 1 coat but I had minor streaks to cover so this is 2 coats without topcoat.

Now you probably noticed that I'm not holding the polish bottle...there's a reason for that. Since it came in my ipsy, it was a sample size so it would've been super difficult to properly photograph this. Here is a size comparison of the bottle to a normal China Glaze bottle.

The China Glaze is Ugly Sweater Party
Overall, I ended up loving this polish. My only gripe is that removing it is a pain if you don't use peel-off basecoat. But other than that, I highly recommend this!

Christmas 2015 Nail Art

Merry Christmas everyone !! I can't believe it's already Christmas ! Since I will be spending the day with my family (and if you celebrate it, I hope you will too), I have a relatively quick post today.

My inspiration came from two things: a previous snowman mani I did a year or so ago and the look of snow during either late night/early morning and how it seems to glitter when you look at it! Believe it or not, I solely used polish to create my look...no acrylic paint! I will have the full details of how it was constructed and such after the jump!

OPI Starlight Collection Holiday 2015 Swatches & Review

Hey guys I'm back! I had my last final on Tuesday which was Korean. I'm sad that a couple of my classes ended, I'm soo glad to be done with school for a little while. Within the past 2 weeks, I've written two 5 page papers, one 6 page paper, one 10 page paper, and a 4 1/2 page paper in Korean on top of studying for my final Tuesday...to say the least I was busy haha. Plus the papers were almost all assigned one day after another!

Anyway enough about my collegiate life and onto polish! Today I have two polishes from the OPI Starlight collection which is their holiday collection for 2015. I was dying at the fact that the whole collection is centered around stars and the galaxy...I'm kinda addicted to galaxy themed things. I thought about picking up a couple more, but the more I saw the different displays I decided against it. However I'm quite happy with the two shades I did pick up! Check out my swatches and thoughts below after the jump!

Exo Nail Art (엑소 네일아트)

Hey guys! I have a quick post today about some nail art I did a while ago. If you didn't know, one of my favorite genres of music is Kpop (or Korean pop). I listen to a lot of groups, but one of my favorites is Exo. I remember when I first heard about them and have been a fan ever since. My bias is Kris (don't get me started on the whole OT12 and everyone leaving haha) aka Wu Yifan.

Anyway, the design is from Mama era or their debut era. The lovely standee that I'm holding is Tao (one of the Chinese members from Exo-M that left).

Polishes used:

  • Color Club Where's the Soiree
  • Nature Republic 01 화이트

I miss when Exo was 12, but it makes me feel better that Kris, Luhan, and Tao are happier....anyway I hope you enjoyed my Exo nail art! I plan to have more coming in the future ;)

Essie Fall 2015 Leggy Legend Collection Swatches & Review

Wow can you believe it's December already?! I feel like November just started yet it's already made it's way out! I only have 2 more weeks of actual class time left, then there is just finals and right now I'm gearing up to combat the crazy amounts of work I have to due before the semester ends!

Today I have a somewhat of a quick post about the Essie Leggy Legend collection. I originally didn't pick any up because the colors weren't that appealing to me. But then after I heard how good some of the polishes were and  saw some swatches, I was hooked and wanted to pick up a few....well that didn't go as planned until one faithful day I was in Target rummaging through the Clearance bin (trust me you can find some great stuff there!) and I found Leggy Legend and Bell-Bottom Blues there. Rest assured they came home with me, and after the jump I'll show you what they look like!

Zoya X Redbook Limited Edition Trio Holiday 2015 Swatches & Review

Happy Monday! I know that for many people Mondays are a source of sadness, especially when everyone was just off for Thanksgiving...I definitely enjoyed my short break of just being able to spend time with my family and my boyfriend and not think about school for a couple of days. Don't get me wrong, I love what I study but everyone needs a little break once in awhile!

Today I have another exciting post! I was at an Ulta near my college and I saw a brand new display from Zoya labeled "Sugar Plum Surprise". I had heard nothing about it so I did some further looking into it and I found out that this was a collaboration between Zoya and Redbook!

Happy Thanksgiving

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to hop on here really quick and wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! I went to my grandparents' house as usual, ate lots of good food and caught up with some of my relatives.

Anyone going Black Friday shopping ? I'm going later in the afternoon tomorrow.

Anyway, I hope you all had a good day~

Coral Polish Comparisons

Happy Tuesday! To say yesterday was interesting was an understatement...because of Thanksgiving and my upcoming break, I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend before I do the tons of work that has been assigned haha.

I have my first dupe post today! If you cannot tell from my first post ever, I'm a coral polish addict. I own at least 7 or 8 to which 3 of them are the exact same color (which was the whole point). My addiction started when I first put on China Glaze Surreal Appeal for formal at my old high school. It ended up matching my dress perfectly and I just fell in love with the color ever since. Of course, it is not a permanent shade in China Glaze's range so I am always seeking out dupes for when the terrible day comes that I finish my only precious bottle haha.

Winstonia Jumbo Sticky Stamper Review

Hey all! How's your day so far? I'm doing pretty good, well I just woke up not long ago so much hasn't happened yet haha. I have class at 2:50 and then I have to meet my Korean Literature professor about my final paper topic, that's all I have to do!

Flower Stamping Nail Art

Hello all ! I'd say "Happy Monday" but nobody really likes Mondays, right? haha Anyway how was you guys' weekend? Mine was pretty awesome! On Saturday, Nicole from Youngwildandpolished had a meet up and I got to meet her! I would post my photographic evidence but my boyfriend blurred the only photo I got so....no photo here haha But I did post my only photo on Instagram so go look there! She was even more gorgeous in person and so nice to boot. Incidentally while I was waiting in line, I also (sort of) met Jill from Glisten & Glow! She liked the nail art that I'm going to show you in this post. Overall, my weekend was quite exciting, no? haha

Star Glitter Nail Art ft. OPI Give Me Space

Happy Thursday everyone ! Just one more day until Friday ! I always kind of look forward to Thursdays because I don't have any classes on Friday (I lucked out this semester) so once I'm done my weekend "begins".

Essence Nail Art Stampy Set Review

Hello Hello ! Today's Hump Day ! I have a review that has been a long time in the making...I've been using this Essence Nail Art Stampy Set for a while now and I'd thought I'd share my thoughts so if anyone was interested in buying it, this could help make your decision !

Here is the outside packaging of what the set looks like (please see * & ** for  a special note).

*As I mentioned before, I've been using this for a while now so I threw away the original box. I just wanted to make a note saying that the image below is not my own and I don't claim it as mine either. I used it purely so you could see what the packaging looks like if you were to pick it up in the store :)

**Image is not my own. This is taken from the Essence website :)

KBShimmer Bahama Drama, Let's Not Coral, and Spot Sign Swatches & Review

Hey everyone ! This is my first official post on my newly designed blog. I've had a nailstagram (here) for a while. I debated for a while whether I should make one or not but I decided to take the plunge and here we are ! Please bear with me as I'm very new to this so some things may still be wonky but I'm always working to iron everything out ! ;)

Now onto the exciting part~ this particular group of polishes are my first purchases from KBShimmer. I'm a little late to the Indie nail polish trend but better late than never right? I'm a self-proclaimed pink-toned coral polishaholic (so specific I know) so the first two cremes, Bahama Drama and Let's Not Coral, should come as no surprise to why I chose them. Then I thought Spot Sign was such a unique glitter...and I've kind of had my eyes on it for a while too so I had to have it obviously! Anyway let's get to the swatches:

Bahama Drama is a peachy/pink/coral that was released with the summer 2015 collection. I found the formula to be a bit streaky but leveled out by the third coat. I must add that when I first saw this it was much brighter than I expected! I was blinded haha. I used 3 coats plus topcoat.

Let's Not Coral is a medium pink. It pulls more raspberry on my skintone (I'm very cool-toned) but in person, it's a bit lighter and almost exactly like a medium pink. This was released in the summer 2014 collection and the formula was wonderful! I used 2 coats plus topcoat.

Spot Sign  has leopard glitter, different sized black circle glitter, and holo glitter all suspended within a clear base. This was released in the winter 2014 collection and I absolutely love this! The base isn't too thick and while you do have to fish out the leopard glitter, it isn't difficult to do. Very unique and I highly recommend, especially for those who cannot do animal print nail art. This is 1 coat over Let's Not Coral plus topcoat.

Overall, I'm very happy with my purchases and will definitely pick up some more when I get the chance!
